The northern half of the island is quieter, with a calmer vibe, while the south has secured some of Europe’s coolest clubs and bars. It’s just over an hour by car from one side of the island to the other, so Ibiza is also pleasingly easy to get around.
As well as dozens of smaller spots, there are three big resorts on the island, each packed with dining, nightlife and a gorgeous coastline. Ibiza Town is the island’s sun-soaked capital, renowned for its nightlife but also for historic sights like its beautiful Old Town. The crystal-clear waters of Cala Comte are nearby, and clubs such as Pacha and Amnesia keep the evenings lively. Just a little southwards is Platja d’en Bossa, arguably the island’s most popular resort. The final ‘big’ resort is San Antonio, situated on the north-western coast of Ibiza. Summertime in Ibiza is hot and sunny with average temperatures of 25–30°C. It is the perfect time to relax on the beautiful beaches and enjoy the water activities on offer including boat trips and snorkeling. The nightlife is vibrant with world famous DJs performing across the island.
Spring and Autumn (shoulder season) are a lovely time to visit Ibiza as the weather is mild (18–26°C) and the crowds are lower. Hiking and sightseeing can be enjoyed, and for those wanting to visit the famous clubs, some will begin opening in late spring and will hold closing parties in late September and early October.
Winter is the perfect time for those looking for peace and tranquility and an authentic Ibizian experience. Temperatures usually range from 12–18°C and evenings are cool along with the sea. It is great for yoga retreats, wellness experiences, and exploring the countryside but do keep in mind that some restaurants and bars will be closed for the season.
